We now have more than 60 hosts and they give their time and skills selflessly.
Come rain or shine, they have contributed well over 1,800 hours of voluntary time to both promote this wonderful town and to support the activities and groups that are the backbone of our community life.
This year we have seen the value of the hosts as a town-wide resource really grow and we’ve supported more than 30 organisations and events, including Age UK Cheshire East, CarersTrust4all, the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, Friends of the Heath, Friends of the Moor, Great Places, the Heritage Centre, Knutsford Lions, Knutsford Town Council, Knutsford GROW, KP2015, the Retailers’ Association, RHS Tatton, Royal May Day, Tabley House, the Tatton Yule Yomp, The Welcome and the VE Day Afternoon Tea amongst others.!
Not only does this support make all the difference to lots of organisations, the hosts also get a lot out of being community volunteers. As one host recently said, ‘it feels a privilege to be a Knutsford host’, and that’s wonderful.
I’d also like to thank David Briggs, the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire and a special honorary host, for all his support, and the Knutsford Guardian.
It all goes to show that community spirit is thriving – a message of seasonal goodwill that is worth celebrating.
